How does the Junior League help the community?

Members of the Junior League of Greater New Britain are accomplished collaborators who build coalitions, identify community needs, and develop effective and responsive programs to serve those needs.

Some of the local organizations the Junior League of Greater New Britain has collaborated with to address community needs are: Visiting Nurses, Hospice, Wheeler Clinic, New Britain Youth Museum, New Britain Public Library, Plainville Food Pantry, Pathways / Senderos, Diagnostic Breast Center at the Hospital of Central Connecticut's New Britain Campus, DCF and various city agencies in New Britain.

Over the years community needs have been identified through member input, the use of community advisory boards, and through contacting local agencies. Once a need has been identified the JLGNB works with the agency/agencies to determine what the needs are and how those needs can be met using financial support and volunteers provided by the Junior League.
