The Junior League of Greater New Britain has decided to do something different in the 2007-2008 year by focusing on a theme throughout the year for our projects. This year's theme will be Literacy.

Last year's project involved reorganizing the Plainville Food Pantry. About a dozen JLGNB volunteers spent the days of April 25-28, 2007, by helping remove and pack winter clothing items, restocking the grocery shelves, putting spring/summer clothing on racks and checking dates on all food products. We worked with the Pantry employees and a couple of regular pantry volunteers. Shelving, clothing racks, bins, and other items were purchased through a donation from the Junior League of New Britain and installed by Gnazzo’s Food Market. Suzie Woerz, Executive Director, was “SO HAPPY” all morning!
